Sledding at grandma's
Hope you had a wonderful Christmas. We were in upstate New York for a few days to visit my husband’s family. We ate, played Wii, ate, played games, ate, went tobogganning (or sledding, as they say in the States) and then ate some more. It's now time to get back to the gym!
I love the beginning of a new year – it reminds me of that feeling at the beginning of a new school year when you start off with fresh pencils and write neatly in new notebooks. It's a chance to take a new path, start fresh, do things differently, make changes, both big and small. It gives you hope.
A new path - (hiking at Hilton Falls)
A recent post on Gretchen Rubin’s insightful blog, The Happiness Project, states that even one little resolution or change like making your bed can have a positive effect on your well-being and overall level of happiness. She recently published a book of the same name which chronicles changes she made in her own life over the course of a year to allow for more happiness. For each month, she tackled one aspect of her life such as fun, love, energy, spirit and order. The results were life-changing. I think for me, I will tackle order in January. You know - those drawers, files, closets, basement that need tidying, sorting, organizing. Overall though, I vow to have more fun and continue to create beautiful rooms. (Oh, and get back to the gym.)
Wishing you a happy and healthy 2010!
