Usually when I stage a home for resale, the realtor calls me only a few days before it goes on the market. This doesn't give the homeowner enough time to ready their home and show it at its best. Sometimes I have clients who contact me directly months before the For Sale sign goes up and who are willing to put some effort and money into staging their home. One of these clients was able to turn a dated kitchen (think pickled oak cabinets) into a fresh, welcoming space using paint and inexpensive tumbled marble backsplash tiles.
If you are thinking of selling your home, allow plenty of time to make improvements so that your house will sell quickly for top dollar.
